Because it's fun!

For over two decades, the Stanford Fleet Street Singers have entertained audiences, on campus and across the country, with a unique blend of music and comedy. Since 1981, we have been committed to bringing excellence, ingenuity, and tradition to all aspects of performance.

Excellence means striving for the highest artistic and musical standards. The group has released seven award-winning albums and has gained first place honors in the National Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Anything less would be, um, un-Fleet-Street-ish!

Ingenuity is the constant pursuit of exciting and creative new ways to entertain our audiences. All of Fleet Street's music is arranged or composed by the group. Our most recent album contained only Fleet Street original compositions - a first in collegiate a cappella.

Tradition is essential to our group. While our repertoire always works to push the boundaries of a cappella, we are never afraid to sing the classics: from timeless jazz ballads to choral works like Franz Biebl's Ave Maria. Fleet Street is also rooted in the Stanford tradition: bedecked in our cardinal-red bow ties and socks, we remain the only group on campus devoted to the preservation of Stanford's rich history of music. Recently, the university tapped Fleet Street to be its musical ambassadors and to record an entire album of classic fight songs, in honor of Stanford's centennial.
